Shelby Chasser is the Editor-In-Chief for the print edition of The Talon, and this will be her third year a part of the newspaper publication at SPHS. Outside of the publication, she is the president of the Lemon club, a part of the National Honor Society, a member of the SPHS girls varsity soccer team and partakes in the Best Buddies International program.

Graduation for the class of 2019 took place on May 28 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Throughout the years the people in the graduating class have become a family. “I’ve been crying all month thinking about having to leave the heaven that is Severna Park High School,” senior Bobby Davids said.

Senior Bobby Davids and I eat at Donut Shack on the weekend. Davids spends much of his time supporting local businesses. “I feel that shopping at small businesses is truly my sole contribution to society,” Davids said.

Senior Lee and senior Melanie Reynolds are building a table top for one of the twenty-eight tables. Previously, Lee has participated in the build twice before, and this was Reynolds first year participating. “Even though it was cold in the morning, we had donuts, coffee and bonfires to keep us warm while we hung out and built tables together,” Lee said.

Spurs’ point guard Aaron Kent sets himself to shoot a three-pointer during the fourth quarter of the Spurs versus Kings game on Sunday. Kent put up 18 points during this game, and the previous day during the Spurs versus Suns game, put up 19 points. “Scrub is a great way to work hard and have fun with competition,” Kent said.

These actors and actresses created an exciting plot which showcased singing talents and acrobatics. “There was more singing than I thought there was going to be, but overall the movie was amazing,” junior Aaron Kent said.

Reid Hussey is currently an active participant on the SPHS swim team coached by Matt McKenny. Over the past few years, Hussey has improved his talents that has helped the team receive win after win. “Swimming together is amazing and fun. He’s an amazing person and swimmer,” fellow teammate Izzy Stone said.

Bel Air High School devastates Severna Park with a heart breaker goal with 11 seconds left. Although the team put in valuable effort, they just couldn’t pull out a win. “It was hard to watch everyone on the other team scream in joy when I knew we had just lost in playoffs for a second year in a row,” said sophomore-midfielder, Brooke Atcheson.

Although Chick-fil-A is well known throughout the community, the restaurant’s food lacks the proper nutrition with a majority of their menu. Since the fast food chain was built in 2013, it has become one of the most popular restaurants in Severna Park. “I have gone broke from going to Chick-fil-A so many times after school is done for the day. The food may not be healthy but it’s delicious,” said sophomore Kyle Jefferds.
