On April 23rd, the Severna Park baseball team played Meade High School in one of their final home games of the season. Before the game began, the Severna Park senior boys were able to be recognized for their hard work during Senior night. They were able to walk the field with their family and friends, and given a poster with their faces on them.  “I love the atmosphere that Senior Night showcases. It not only is able to show appreciation to the graduating Seniors, but also thanks the parents, coaches, and friends that have helped them along the way,” said Maeve Register, a senior at Severna Park who went to the game to support her friends. Senior Maddie White also attended the game to show her support. “I do my best to attend as many sporting events as I can, especially senior nights. I love how the players are able to feel special and appreciated while also staying humble. By having their family and friends come to support them, it allows the player to know that there hard work is being recognized.”

Even though the boys season is coming to close in a few short weeks, the seniors seem happy about their success this season and are looking forward to seeing the program grow in the future years. “After playing baseball for the high school for four years now, I am upset to see it come to an end but I look forward to seeing how the rest of the season goes!” says starting right-fielder AJ Weyant. With five more in season games left, the boys hope to finish out the season strong.
