Senior Assassin Kicks Off with Strategy, Suspense, and Soaked Students.

Seniors are teaming up, planning attacks, and watching their backs in this popular end-of-year game.

Water, guns, secret targets, and a whole lot of paranoia-the senior class has officially kicked off this year’s senior assassin game. What starts as a fun tradition quickly turns intense with students constantly checking their surroundings and trying to avoid getting “out”. Whether it’s in neighborhoods, parking lots, or even in your own house, no one really feels safe once the game begins.

Senior assassin is a student run game where each person is assigned a target and has to eliminate them using a water gun. At the same time everyone is also someone else’s target which makes things even more stressful. The game keeps going until there’s only one person left, usually with a cash prize on the line.

“It’s honestly way more intense than I thought it would be,” senior Sol Cingolani said, “you can’t really relax anywhere because someone could be watching you at any time.” As the game gets going, people are already starting to come up with strategies to stay longer. Some are working with friends while others are trying to track where their targets might be.

“I’ve been teaming up with a few people to figure out where everyone is,” senior Mia Phippen said. “It’s not just random either. You actually have to think things through if you want to win.” Because of this, even normal everyday routines are starting to change. Things like going home, leaving practice or even walking outside feel a little more risky now that the game is on.

“I’ve definitely been more careful,” Senior Brady Talbot said. “I’ve started taking different routes home sometimes and I’m always looking around. It kind of makes everything feel more intense.” Even though the game can get competitive, a lot of seniors say it also brings people together since everyone is involved in some way. It’s created more interaction and conversation between student students.

“It’s actually been really fun so far,” senior Gabbi Villegas has said. “Even people I don’t usually talk to, I’ve been talking to because of the game.” While it can definitely be distracting at times most students agree it’s a fun way to make their last few weeks of senior year more exciting with graduating getting closer. It’s something that makes this time feel a little more memorable.

“At the end of the day it’s just really fun ,” Gavin Gerrard added. “It’s something we’ll all remember after we graduate.”
