The Severna Park High School volleyball team gives students the opportunity to play their sport for the school as well as make friends with their teammates. The teams ride the bus together, cheer for each other’s games, and have team dinners and events to help them build connections. This program builds a community on and off the court. The players practice almost every day and put in hard work to strive for their goals for the season.
Getting ready for the upcoming season, Severna Park High School has a camp where they invite upcoming 9th graders and younger to participate in their camp. This opens up an opportunity for upcoming 9th graders to get ready for tryouts, and for JV and varsity coaches to start getting a look. One of the positives is combining different skill levels and different ages of girls. This can expose girls to creating new friendships by bonding with their teammates.
The players practice every day after school which gives them a chance to exercise every day. This is a great community to join because it makes long lasting friendships through a sport they love.
