1. Tiger King:
This documentary features eight episodes of downright crazy. Centered around, Joe Exotic: an Oklahoman who loves tigers, fame, and men. This show is full of twists and turns every episode and follows Joe throughout his rise in the exotic animal industry and his eventual fall as he is arrested and incarcerated for attempting to hire a hitman to kill his rival, Carole Baskin. This show is a must watch because of its ability to draw you in episode after episode and the memes that have become extremely popular after the release of the series. “It encompasses the best elements of drama, action and comedy flawlessly into a program that becomes an immersive experience as the viewer delves into the lives of Joe Exotic and Carol Baskin and the feud between them. It is a must watch,” senior Tyler Dulin said.
2. Outer Banks:
A group of teens goes on a treasure hunt to find $400 million worth of shipwrecked gold. What could go wrong? Set in the barrier islands of North Carolina, the main character John B. and his posse known as the ‘Pogues’ search for riches after John’s father goes missing. Adventure, murder and romance fill every episode of this action packed TV show. Set aside at least one full day to binge this series. With ten episodes, each an hour long, once you start watching you won’t be able to stop. “I think every girl in America wants to marry John B,” senior Jenna King said.
3. Step Brothers:
While this movie may not have been released recently (2008) it is a cult classic and an important movie to have under your belt. In these dark times this light-hearted comedy is great to watch for the first time or even watch again. Two parents with children from previous marriages move in together and bring their deadbeat adult sons with them. The newly acquainted step-brothers played by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay get into such intense fights and arguments that it causes the parents to eventually divorce one another. This movie features iconic quotes such as “I’m not going to call him dad even if there’s a fire.” I would quote more but I have been told by my adviser Mrs. Earhart that rest are all “wildly inappropriate and not suitable for a high school newspaper.”
