The Severna Park Falcons Junior Varsity Football Team strides into the 2024 fall season with high expectations this year on the field. As coaches and players put in tons of time during pre-season and practices to prepare for game day.
The Severna Park Football community is welcoming to returning and new players with all different strengths and attributes to the team. Freshman Ben Morgan says “being a part of SP football is a great community… as a new player on the team he’s been able to meet a lot of new people and make friends”.
The JV Falcons have high expectations for themselves this fall season. “Main goal for this season is to come together as a team to be successful in winning as many games as possible to be able to make it to the county championship” tenth-grader Michael Pastine states. Individually, Ben Morgan hopes “to get at least one touchdown this year”.
Weight lifting, conditioning, film study and practicing position based skills all contribute to a good outcome for every game. But the JV falcons discuss the importance of their pregame routines to prepare mentally. Morgan vocalizes, “I usually listen to music in my airpods, stretch and talk to my friends to get hype before the game”. Similarly, Pastine mentions he “always likes to drink a lot of water, get a good pre game meal in, collaborate with my team to make sure we are all on the same team and the biggest thing; getting hype with the team by listening to music.
After lots of hard work at practice and scrimmages the JV falcons have high hopes and expectations as they roll into the start of their season with their first couple games within the upcoming weeks.
