“The Sixth Sense”

This PG-13 rated movie was released in 1999. Young Cole Sear has a dark secret: he can see ghosts. He is scared to tell anyone about this problem until he finally tells child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe. As Dr. Crowe uncovers the truth about Cole’s supernatural powers, the consequences for the client and therapist are a jolt that awakens them to something strange and unexplainable.

“The Invisible Man” 

“The Invisible Man” is an R-rated sci-fi horror movie that was released in 2020. The movie follows a woman who believes that her wealthy and abusive ex-boyfriend is stalking and gaslighting her from the grave. He apparently committed suicide, but ultimately figures out that he has acquired the ability to become invisible.

The movie is included with Hulu, HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video. You can pay to watch it on YouTube, Google Play, Apple TV and Vudu. 

 

“Malignant” 

This movie is an R-rated horror film that was released in September 2021. In this movie, Madison “Maddie” Lake-Mitchell is paralyzed by fear from her shocking visions, her fear turns to terror as she discovers her waking dreams are terrifying realities.

“The Shining”

“The Shining” was released in 1980 and is an R-rated movie. Jack Torrance takes on the job of being the winter caretaker at the Overlook Hotel in Colorado in hopes of clearing up his writer’s block. He is there with his wife Wendy and his son Danny, who becomes plagued with psychic premonitions. Jack’s writing continues to go nowhere and Danny’s visions get more disturbing. In the process, Jacob unravels the hotel’s dark secrets and starts to devolve into a homicidal maniac who is hell-bent on terrorizing his family.

“A Quiet Place”

“A Quiet Place” is a PG-13 sci-fi horror movie that was released in 2018. The plot revolves around the father and mother who are struggling to survive and raise their children in a post-apocalyptic world. This world is inhabited by blind animalistic aliens with a freakish sense of hearing. If you like “A Quiet Place”, the sequel was released recently.  

The movie can be watched on Hulu, Sling TV, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+ if you have a paid subscription. It is also free with cable TV and you can pay to watch it on Google Play, Vudu and Apple TV

 

“Candyman”

“Candyman” is an R-rated movie that was released this year. For decades, the housing projects of Chicago have been terrorized by a ghost story about a supernatural and hook-handed killer. Artist Anthony McCoy starts to explore the history of this killer named the Candyman, little does he know it would unravel his sanity and unleash a terrifying wave of violence that puts him on a collision course with destiny.
