On Nov. 19, 2025, Severna Park Campus Life held a memorable gathering at the Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church that focused on the theme of kindness, a value that has always been central to the group but took on a special meaning during this discussion. Directors Mike Wagner, Sarah Roman, and Brooke Atkinson led the evening with a thoughtful discussion that connected everyday compassion to the teachings of Jesus. They shared biblical references, such as Ephesians 4:32, calling to “be kind and compassionate to one another” and show that kindness is not just a good habit but a reflection of Christ’s love in action.

Throughout the discussion, students were encouraged to think about how even the simplest gestures can have a lasting impact. To reinforce this message, each student received at least one handwritten letter from a director. These personal notes included affirmations, words of encouragement, and reminders of each student’s value. The room filled with smiles and a sense of genuine appreciation as everyone read the letters written specifically for them. 

The night didn’t end there. After the meeting wrapped up, the entire group made their way to McDonald’s where they were able to continue hanging out and talking over free food. Surrounded by fries, laughter, and relaxed conversation, students and directors continued to bond. This gathering helped turn the lesson into something lived out, kindness expressed through time spent together, shared meals, and meaningful connections.

Overall, the evening stood out as a reminder that kindness can be both powerful and contagious. Through biblical reflection, heartfelt letters, and community time, Severna Park Campus Life created an atmosphere of warmth and unity that students will remember long after Nov. 19.
