The beginning of winter comes with an overload of holidays, cold weather, and lots of snow. The winter of 2025 offers lots of snow, especially to the Severna Park area. Many of the larger snowstorms come from the northern parts of Canada and make their way down to the Midwest, before finishing up in on the East Coast. Currently the first of those storms is in the Midwest, near Kansas City. In just a couple days it will cover the majority of the east coast from Maine to southern Virginia. In the Midwest, they are seeing snowfall amounts of about 1 to 3 inches. However, the northeast could see up to two times the amount of snow according to The Weather Channel. The snow is set to stick around for a while, so schools may have multiple days off. When the snow eventually melts, there will be lots of ice to stay on the roads, stretching from Baltimore, Maryland to Roanoke, Virginia. Western Maryland will be mostly snow, but Anne Arundel County will be a mix of snow, ice, and rain. With the type of weather that is hitting Maryland at this time, experts are saying that the snow this year should be much more compared to years prior because of the early flurries that have already started to fall on the east coast.
