On May 30 and 31st, the St. Constantine and Helen Greek orthodox Church in Annapolis welcomed hundreds of visitors to its annual Greek Festival, a celebration of Greek culture, food, music, and tradition.

Guests enjoyed a variety of authentic Greek foods and pastries, including kourabedies, koulourakia, gyros, and souvlakia. The festival gave attendees the opportunity to experience traditional Greek cuisine while learning more about the customs and heritage of the Greek community.

In addition to the food, the event featured games and activities for children, creating a family-friendly atmosphere for visitors of all ages. Throughout the weekend, members of the church’s dance groups entertained crowds with traditional Greek performances. Groups including Filia, Hara, the Aegeans, and the adult dance group showcased dances that have been passed down through generations.

One of the highlights of the festival was a performance by the Aegeans dance group. During a traditional Zeibekiko dance, senior Serafim Anastasis performed an old cup trick with a cup filled with water while surrounded by fellow dancers. The group clapped along to the rhythm of the popular Greek song “Den Thelo Tetious Filos” by Natasa Theodoridou and Paschalis Terzis, drawing cheers and applause from the audience.

The festival not only provided entertainment but also served as a way to preserve and share Greek traditions with the wider Annapolis community. Through food, music, dance, and fellowship, the event celebrated the rich culture and strong sense of community that continue to bring people together year after year.
