Matt Mangano is senior at SPHS. It is his second year working on the Talon as the features editor. When he is not working on the Talon, Mangano is the Vice President for the class of 2020.  He also enjoys having bonfires with his friends and supporting local small businesses.

After two school buildings and a pandemic, the class of 2020 is finally leaving SPHS. This historical class was the last to arrive at the building that used to stand at 60 Robinson Road, and now leaves in a time of uncertainty. To all seniors reading this I say, I’m sorry. This is the worst.

Boats are staying tied up to their moorings this spring. Governor Hogan’s stay at home order banned recreational boating and frustrated boaters across the state. “The amount of times I have had to pass up a boat ride when the river was glass is disgusting,” junior Holden Tatem said.

Donut Shack has reopened and citizens of Severna Park are eager to sink their teeth into the delicious treats. The grand reopening was a huge success for the business. “I waited in line for over 40 minutes,” Stephanie Brenneman said.

Last year on February 14, the deadliest shooting at a high school in the United States took place in Parkland, FL. at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. This tragedy has been seen as a turning point for gun regulations across the country, but concerns of another disaster still loom. “I think a school shooting is a real possibility,” senior Zachary Binnix said.
