What did you learn from mock interviews?

Chloe: I learned that when I get a job, I should try to find the things I like and dislike about it for my future.

Ava: I learned the skills needed for an interview in real life, in the big world. 

Jordyn: I learned how to present myself in front of professionals; like body language and positive facials and attitude. 

Andrew: I learned how I can use my interest to find my place in a future career.

How did you prepare for the interview?

Chloe:  I got dressed. I did the practice questions, and it just really put me in  the mood of a working woman. 

Ava: I did practice questions, and I practiced with my friends.

Jordyn: I created my resume to bring for me and the interviewer, as well as looking over the possible questions they could ask me.

Andrew: I made sure to look over possible questions and review my resume to ensure I was ready.

Is there anything you would change about your preparation for the interview?

Chloe: I would make a better resume, because he really critiqued mine. 

Ava: I would probably practice for a longer period of time rather than like cramming right before. 

Jordyn: I wouldn’t have spent as much time reviewing the questions because my interviewer didn’t ask me any of them. 

Andrew:  I would make sure I was ready to ask questions about them and dig deeper into how they found their passion.

What was the most unexpected question they asked you?

Chloe: Probably what I want to do with my life. 

Ava: Probably about ChatGPT. They were like, ‘how do you think this affects it?’ And asked about the recent industry trend. I just didn’t understand why that was relevant?

Jordyn: The most unexpected question they asked me was “what do you think the difference is between leadership and management?”

 Andrew: They asked me what classes had the biggest impact on me today which I hadn’t thought about until then.

What part of the interview was the easiest? What was the hardest?

Chloe: The easiest was getting dressed, printing out the resumes and the hardest was trying to find words for the thank you letter

Ava: The easiest was like, meeting her in the beginning, and the hardest was probably answering questions on the spot. 

Jordyn: The easiest part was greeting the interviewer and introducing myself. The hardest part was having to come up with answers on the spot to questions that I’d never thought I would be asked. 

Andrew: The easiest part was meeting them, coming up to someone new can be nerve wracking but it can also be fun.The hardest part was responding to new questions that I hadn’t thought about beforehand.
