Severna Park has so many great ice cream places, and Always Ice Cream just joined the crowd. The question is, how are people supposed to know which ice cream place boasts the best flavors and quality? The answer is, it is one of the best options out there.

When someone walks into Always, they experience a new kind of ice cream store: a monochromatic, bright and welcoming environment. Known for its black and white decals with emerald green accents and the occasional pop of pink, it embodies a positive, happy environment. Not only does it boast fun paintings on the inside, they are also featured outside. On the side of the building facing the trail, the brick wall is covered in similar designs. With these designs, it imparts a friendly and welcoming vibe. For this store it is notable that the environment is not the only thing making the vibe positive.

The other thing is how the staff acts; they are kind, attentive and polite. Because the store is close to the B&A Trail, it attracts many customers. Not only is it in Severna Park, the company has seven locations in Maryland. The company has 250 flavors, including dairy free, vegan and one option with extra protein. They also offer ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes and floats. There are options for delivery, custom cakes and nationwide shipping. Apart from delivery and shipping, the locations are found in walk able areas and offer seating options. These components make it a more convenient visit because guests are invited to sit and enjoy, rather than stand off to the side. For example, the location in Severna Park gives seating close to the B&A Trail, appealing to bikers and walkers on the trail. Compared to other locations in Severna Park, Always has more flavor options, a better environment and more widespread locations throughout Maryland.

Although some other locations have better prices, Always is not unreasonable and justifies the price with value. Not only is the value of the ice cream commendable, it is also the amount given. If one was to order a “single” in a cone, they would receive two scoops, which is more than implied by the name. Also the store is not big, so the line can get to be long and the wait may be long and crowded. Unlike other ice cream stores, it also serves popular sodas and energy drinks. These drinks are a boost of revenue for the store and support thirsty customers.

One thing to note is that parking is limited, so customers may have to park in a larger nearby parking lot and walk over. This is also the case with two other popular stores in the area, FroYo and Rita’s. Because these three locations experience the same problem, it seems that it is not their fault and just the circumstance of the location.

Because there are so many flavors, some people might have a problem choosing, which is understandable. Seeing as there are so many flavors, there is not one that could win every category, but in my opinion, one of the best is salted caramel brownie batter. This one features a vanilla base with caramel swirls and large chunks of brownie. The ice cream is known to be rather salty, although I would not say that the salt overpowers the other components. When served in a cake cone and eaten, it is truly splendid. Another great flavor is Funfetti cheesecake. This one also displays nuggets of cheesecake surrounded by rainbow sprinkles, all combined in a blue tinted vanilla ice cream. Next time you need to try something new, want a treat or just need ice cream, consider visiting Always and trying a popular flavor.
